Travertine Floor Deep Cleaning & Restoration | Palos Park, IL

Today we completed a rough-finish travertine floor restoration for a client whose floors had lost their natural look from years of foot traffic, dirt, and buildup. Rough or textured finishes are especially tricky to maintain because dirt and grime settle deep into the stone’s pores.

Our Process

Diamond Brush Cleaning: Instead of harsh chemicals, we used professional diamond brushes designed to deep-clean textured stone surfaces. These brushes safely remove dirt, soap, and residue trapped in the stone’s natural pits and grooves.
Honing & Leveling: Once cleaned, we used diamond abrasives to smooth out uneven wear and erase scratches while still keeping the natural rough texture intact.
Surface Polishing: Depending on the customer’s preference, we polished the stone just enough to refresh its natural tones and highlight its beauty without making it overly glossy.
Sealing for Protection: Finally, we applied a penetrating sealer to protect the travertine from water, spills, and dirt. This step helps keep the stone cleaner for longer and reduces future maintenance.

Result

The travertine floor now looks brighter, cleaner, and healthier, with its natural texture restored but free of trapped dirt and discoloration. The sealer will also protect it against daily wear, making it easier for the homeowner to maintain.
